Part-time Beginner/ Intermediate Roller Skate Instructor

Pay Rate: $14.50 per lesson
Hours: 3.5-6.5 hours/ week

Summary

The Roller Skate Instructor is responsible for teaching basic and intermediate level skating skills to both children, and adults. Instructors within this job classification must work very well with skaters and must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate with skaters parents. The Instructor is required to ensure the program is delivered as intended by the Operations Manager and that it meets or exceeds client standards.

Uniform Requirements

Instructors must wear staff provided shirt when instructing classes. Dark/ black bottoms required, no jeans when instructing.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Arrive early to set up training materials and greet participants
Lead the class through warm-up, basic roller skating practices and mechanics
Lead a small group of up to 7 participants through skill-specific development practices for approximately 45 minutes of class time
Able to present themselves professionally and communicate appropriately with all customers and staff members
Effective planning and time management skills

Specific Job Requirements and Responsibilities

Must have knowledge of roller skating fundamentals and development skills
Must have intermediate/ advanced roller skating experience
Dance-skate experience is an asset
First Aid certification is an asset
Vulnerable Sector Check
